How do I know if a taurus man is genuniely interested VS flirting for fun?

My study colleague has been giving signs of interest (settle, not agressive). I could never tell b/c he was soo nice & a gentleman to everybody but seemed to give me special attention and was outgoing only when it was the 2 of us. He would carry my backpack (if he thought it was heavy), always wanting to help me and made “studying” as an excuse to hang out. He even found out my favorite piano piece, downloaded, and burned it onto a CD. He’ll ask more questions about my family, dreams, goals, etc…my “most romantic moment”, “first kiss”, etc… he’s been doing alot of research on me lol

After a hard day of studying we went out to eat. When it’s us 2, he’s more comfortable being flirty and he was just that. Apparently he got “turned on” by my intellectual answers (he was surprised) and got cuddly…it was night of “lust”.
- He expressed how happy and excited he was when we cuddled.
- The rest of the night and he was tempted to kiss me; wouldn’t let him. He was a gentleman and asked if it was okay to kiss me on the cheek.
- he’s obsessed w. the neck area…and yeah…good stuff
- i got tempted and just kissed him – he stopped and said if we kissed too much, it would be “insignificant” (compared to one special kiss). “we’re not dating and we’re kissing!” lol
- He kept stroking my head saying he thinks i’m “cute”, i had “soft lips”, smell good, soft skin, etc..
- he drove me home and played me my piano song (mentioned above), researched a restaurant (tht is close to my cultural roots) and suggested we go there (2 of us), and when he dropped me off at home, he saved my address/location on his GPS

Yesterday, he complimented me Like I said, he always carries my backpack & he says, “you know, i don’t get why guys don’t carry girls’ backpacks – maybe b/c girls will get the wrong idea & think the guy likes her.” (HUH?!). Went out to coffee and, he expected to pay for both of us (as usual) but I hadt it. He shared more about his life. He offered to take me out to dinner if i end up not going out on halloween (he doesn’t wanna go out w. me and my friends). He carried my bag again to the car and just gave me a side hug. (????) He mentioned how he dated a girl over the summer but she moved to another country and will email her if he has the time. This morning i saw him chatting w. her online (which is nothing) but he was very “innocently flirting” w. her. Also, he invited a girl in our lab to study w. us tonight (she’s got a bf) and he’s probably being friendly but i’m kinda jealous (which is weird b/c i’m never jealous). I know it’s nothing but past insecurities are gettin to me (guys just think i look good and just flirt w. me for nothing…)

how did i turn my back? I’m still interested? what did i do????
