Why A Good Article Service Is Like A Wet Northern Town

Here’s a question for you – why is a professional SEO article service like a constantly damp, overcast northern town? Or, to put it another way, why are article writing services not like thunderstorms or flash floods?

Marketing a website or web business is a task fraught with difficulties and challenges. Trying to create a viable business model is hard enough, in addition to balancing the books and carrying out the required work. But when you throw a torrent of acronyms into the mix, from SEO to LSI, from PPC to SERP it can quickly seem an impossible task. That’s why most entrepreneurs and online business owners turn to professional marketing services, and use an article service to create compelling, linguistically rich articles which grab the attention of the search engines and help boost a site’s ranking.

But a great many online business owners make the mistake of thinking that this kind of service is a quick fix, a way of getting their site out there, noticed, and near the top of the search engine results pages. This is to think that you can grow a garden or a vegetable plot in an area which is bone dry for 364 days a year, with a torrential downpour and violent thunderstorm one day a year.

The result is that almost nothing will happen. If the ground’s dry and hard, most of the rain will just slide off and disappear quite rapidly. In the same way, having your website almost entirely unheard of and unseen for much of the time will not be helped by a very occasional burst of activity from article writing services or SEO marketing gurus. Most of the hard work will simply make a lot of noise, almost all of which will be quickly forgotten and have little effect in the long run.

So what’s all this about damp northern towns? In my experience most northern towns in the UK enjoy a healthy dose of cold, damp, gloomy weather during the winter, followed by a deceptively identical cold, damp, gloomy season referred to as ‘summer’ – the only difference being that during the summer the days are longer, allowing people to enjoy the cold, damp and gloomy weather for slightly more of the time.

But all this wet weather means that plants grow fantastically. A constant drizzle is far better for developing a good crop than an occasional torrent, and exactly the same applies to online marketing. Creating a hundred well written fully optimized articles and blasting them to the article directories may get some attention for a while – but it is a very short-lived attention.

On the other hand, creating a batch of articles and then submitting these over time will create a much better form of visibility – one which makes the search engines believe your site isn’t a one-hit wonder, and that it’s a well maintained, constantly refreshed and updated business that is regularly putting out information. It is this ‘staying power’ and ‘little-but-often’ approach which helps make websites not just get to the top of the search results pages, but hold that high position.

Blasting the web with thousands of articles in one go might see your website briefly rise from obscurity and claim a reasonably high top spot. But check back a few days later and it’s highly likely to have sunk as quickly into obscurity as it left it.

Most professional article services offer significant discounts if you order batches of articles in one go, and the temptation is to either pay more for one or two articles at a time, or buy a whole heap, and submit them all at once. Far better is to enjoy the discount by buying articles in bulk, and then spend more time submitting them over time, regularly. But don’t think that once you’ve exhausted your batch of articles the job’s done. Just as with the rain, once it dries up, the plants die very quickly and you have no further crops to look forward to.

This is one of the reasons why it’s important to find a professional article service with whom you have a good working relationship, since it is likely to become an on-going partnership. Of course, it’s not necessary to find an article service that’s also residing in a wet, gloomy northern town, but at least they’re more likely to be at work than on the beach!
