Windows Vista ran fine but any more?

So i recently built a computer with vista ultimate 64bit regardless of the bad reviews i had read, i just thought you would need good hardware to handle vista thus i built my computer with the following :
- abit in9 32x max motherboard
- 150gb raptor drive (10k rpm)
- intel quad core 2.4ghz
- 3gb corsair ram
- 8800gts 640mb
its a nice computer, the first 2 weeks it ran fine and i had downloaded like 2 games, few songs and not much.
About a week ago I installed call of duty 4 and then my computer went down the drain.
Now it takes 2 years to boot, lags to open up a picture, lags to open up IE, lags on starting up anything.
So I completely removed COD4 and nothing. I did a system restore to the first week i had the pc and nothing. I have no idea what to do any more 
i doubt i have a virus or something dubm like that.
Any smart answers <3333

I just bought a laptop that had vista on it…it ran fine for about a month then it started showing the same symptoms you are describing…my friend which is in IT, said that there was nothing wrong with the lap top, it was Vista that was giving me all the problems so he installed xp on it 2 mos ago now it works great.. no problems…my best suggestion…install windows XP, I have had no hassles since.
